D’Angelo’s “Voodoo,” new book in "33 1/3 Music" series, out March 2020.

I took a two-year hiatus from filmmaking to become…a BOOK AUTHOR!

The result is Voodoo, a book about the making and the impact of singer/songwriter/musician D’Angelo’s seminal 2000 release. Voodoo blew my emotions wide open. It is my all-time favorite album, so writing a book about it was an honor, but also quite exhausting. I interviewed musicians, academics, industry executives and quoted fans like myself who had their own unique takes on the album.
